Super Why & Wonder Red!

Today was a Super fun day! We got to see Super Why and Wonder Red! On top of that, we got to make smoothies, do a pumpkin craft, make some trail mix, make smores, eat free samples of apples, cookies and juice- and we even got to check out a compost box with worms in it! You'll see from the pictures that Charlie was not so excited about Super Why being as tall as he was- and he didn't go anywhere near Wonder Red. He did have no problem saying hi and by Super Why- which was totally cute- but when it neared nap time the tears came pouring down! All in all, we did have a great time- and when do you ever really get stuff for free?!?!
They were giving away coloring books, markers and other kid treasures!

The craft tables!

Me, Charlie and Super Why!!

Wesley had a great time, too!  He did very well in spite the fact he was missing his morning nap for this!  He enjoyed some of the free goldfish crackers and cookies!!  There was so much to keep him visually active!

Lillie enjoyed the smoothie her mommy made! Yum!!
Here we saw the worms!! Charlie didn't like the dirt!

Making Trail Mix! It was very good! Charlie liked this a lot!!

Charlie and his new pumpkin, craisen, sunflower seeds, banana chips trail mix!

Cousin Lillie enjoyed looking at all the pretty flowers! She looks like you could sit her right in the middle of them and she'd blend right in!
Lillie and Wonder Red! Lillie wanted to kiss her! Aw!!

Wesley and Wonder Red! Charlie was too tired this time and afraid.
Wesley was a little uneasy but at least he wasn't crying!

Tomato Charlie II

I thought this year was going to go by without a Tomato Charlie II but Charlie surprised me!
We had one lone tomato on the counter and Charlie was "helping" me make lunch- natural peanut butter with omega3, Flax seeds and wheat germ (you know, what peanut butter should be!) with bananas and pure maple syrup! (I wanted marshmallow fluff but Charlie wanted maple syrup, better for you anyway).

So, as I was saying, I got the sandwiches made, which you will probably notice in the background, and Charlie picked up the tomato and said, "Ah cut dis." And I asked him, "You want me to cut it?!" to which he replied, "Yyeeaahh!" and I sarcastically said, "Why, so you can say you don't want it after I cut it up?"

He looked at me for 2 whole seconds and bit a huge bite right out of it. I felt as if he was saying, "Fine. I'll eat it just like this!" I then said, "Well, do you want any salt?" He did. Then I said, "You want me to take a picture of you?" He said, "Yeah..."

So, here is what I captured to share with you.

I looked up the pictures from last year and he was so little! Younger than he seemed back then- but still just as funny and crazy about tomatoes! Thank you Papaw for the one lone tomato so I could have 2 more whole pages in this years book! :)

Just a Joyful Note About Fall...

I am so ready for Fall!  Last year, I was getting ready to welcome a baby boy and this year I am getting ready for his first birthday!  I'm doing an airplane theme!  He's such a sweetie pie.  My Wesley.  A year ago I could not imagine his little personality.  I couldn't imagine his mannerisms, likes, dislikes, and attitudes.  It's funny how much you learn about a person as they're growing and developing themselves!

I finally got my Fall things out and the warmers burning Autumn Sunset!  All that is missing is a nature walk with the boys and collecting some fallen leaves and branches for the family room!  A Firewood candle from Bath and Body Works wouldn't hurt, either! ;)

The air is crisp.  Great for my morning walks!  I get up before everyone else and get outside and walk around the neighborhood.  I say good morning to the kids as they're walking to the school bus and wish them a good day.  Most of the time though, I am praying.  Spending time with God and watching the sun rise!  There just isn't a better way to begin a day.

Fall lends something to a person that no other season can.  The crisp, cool air; the fireplaces being used; the oranges, browns and crunchy leaves that rustle when you walk through them; the scarves; the hats; the great walks without sweating to death; the hot chocolate.  I just love Fall.  It's my favorite time of year.  And the fact that I have a little, amazing boy whose birthday is in the Fall just makes it even more wonderful for me!

I'm glad Fall is here and now I can't wait for Wesley's airplane birthday!
Love you Wesley John!
Here are a few more pictures of our family photo shoot!
