I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to title this blog tonight because there are so many things on my mind and it has been an entire weeks since my last post! Let's see, last Saturday we packed up the car and left the house at 5:45am heading South to Cumberland where we boated with some friends from church. We had a blast!!! Jeff actually got up on the ski's and skied for about a mile! Woohoo! :)

Then we left at lunch time and headed back up North a bit to go shopping at the Amish store called Sunny Valley (which used to be Nolt's Bulk Foods). I got cake flour and pastry flour along with 2 huge things of cinnamon and cinnamon sticks, parsley, a bunch of sprinkles for baking and such...we also went to an Amish store that sold housewares, wood furniture, kitchen items and childrens clothing. I got the new baby a little knitted sweater with a matching hat! So cute! Charlie found a pair of rainboots which I would have bought him in a second had they fit! They were 1 size too small! :( Oh well! I'm still on the lookout for cute kid gear for next spring! He'll look so darling in a rain slicker with an umbrella and matching boots!!! :) So after shopping we headed to check in to the hotel, where it's pretty much a tradition of ours to stay in this particular Country Inn or whatever it's called. We got a suite, showers, naps- and then headed to the cabin...
...Which the reason for the trip to begin with was the Moore family reuinion, held this year at Ronnie's cabin- that he hand built!!! It was gorgeous inside and out! The only thing pesky was those darn mosquitos! Here's a few pictures of the cabin! I just can't believe he built everything- everything- himself!

Cabin Sweet Cabin! |
|
Ok, these are custom made cabinet! Ronnie owns a cabinet shop in Russell Springs. Aren't they beautiful?! |
|
This is Ronnie himself. Yes, he even made the bed and his son made the night stands next to the bed. There is a bathroom that accompanies this bedroom, all of which he made the doors and storage ares for! Talent!! |
|
These are just a few of the heirlooms in this cabin. Such a sweet little place! |

Here is the corner fire place, and every fireplace needs a flat screen! |
These are just a few of the pictures. My big regret is not photographing the dining table like I thought I did. It was beautiful, decorated with two different woods, drawers on both ends to store flatware and placemats and underneath- my favorite part- was a huge letter "M"...for his last name Moore of course. Let me tell you, he didn't leave one detail left undone! Even the bathrooms were just amazing! He even made the floors, hand picking each piece of wood, sadly there was a flood somehow from one of the toilets while they were away and ruined the entire floor! So he had to replace it, but it is just as nice!
Then, Mr Edward Cain took all the kids for multiple rides up and down the road on his miniature horses, Mickey (the black one) and Firecracker and Lad, I think was the other ones name. I've forgotten now! But Charlie LOVED them, actually he loved the cows, but he did like the ponies a lot, and that was all I got a picture of.

Me and Charlie, sorry Jeff didn't actually get the ponies in the picture! |
|

Jeff and I decided to take Charlie for a walk and check out the old houses nearby- at one time they were family members houses...and in the midst of discussion Charlie fell into a ditch near one of the driveways hitting his face on a huge rock: his upper lip swelled up, bled and I cried more than he did! Poor guy! :( But, he recovered in a few minutes and was happy once again after another pony ride!
So, as for this week- Jeff is working nights. I am trying to keep quiet during the day and spend some times with him when he wakes. I am actually now looking forward to this schedule change, how very weird it is- because I think we'll actually get to spend more time together as a family! :) And that makes me very happy!
So this blog is HUGE and I really need to get off this computer and get some things organized for tomorrow morning. Church then Sunday School then home to make tacos!
But I must leave you with one picture- for all of you who have sons- this is SUCH a boy! :) I love it!!!

Charlie is hungry...again! :) He loves our new fridge... |
